Everything from "Red Flats Girl" to LA's Hottest New Grocery Store

Whitney Leavitt Confirms Departure From SLOMW
After much speculation, it’s official — Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will be Whitney’s last.
In a TikTok posted earlier this week, Whitney Leavitt looked back on the show with a lot of gratitude and made it clear she’s excited for what’s next.
Honestly, it was time.
To say this bluntly: with the public unraveling of Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney is arguably the most upward-moving of the group right now. Between Dancing with the Stars, Chicago, and her upcoming film, she’s on a very different trajectory than the rest of the cast.
As a marketer (and a pop culture obsessed person), the real question I keep coming back to is: Can she ride this wave into something sustainable?
Out of curiosity, I asked Chatgpt for examples of reality stars who successfully made the jump into acting. This is what I got:
Jamie Chung — The Real World: San Diego
Jennifer Hudson — American Idol
Emma Stone — In Search of the New Partridge Family
Cardi B — Love & Hip Hop: New York
Lucy Hale — American Juniors
And as you can see, none of these are a great comparison to Whitney’s situation.
I can’t predict the future here. But context clues tell me one thing: Keeping the public’s interest without the engine of a reality show behind you is very, very hard.

MET Gala: Red Flats Girl
When I sat down to write today’s piece, I knew I had to talk about the Met Gala. It’s a massive cultural moment — and that’s the whole point of The Sunday Scroll.
But me recapping looks you’ve already seen 400 times? Not interesting. Not entertaining. And frankly, not me.
What is very on brand for me: the viral moment that came out of it.
Enter: Red Flats Girl (the social handle I hope she will be rebranding to)
In the middle of the media frenzy, a video went wildly viral of a PR assistant absolutely doing the most. If you’ve ever been an assistant or coordinator in a high pressure job like this, this video might trigger you.
The assistant is Erin Gilman. Since the clip, she’s gained thousands of followers across Instagram and TikTok.
And the real brand winner here?
The red flats she’s wearing are Tory Burch. They need to put this girl in an ad immediately.

Crown Affair’s Dianna Cohen Launches New Podcast
Founder of popular haircare brand Crown Affair, Dianna Cohen is launching a new endeavor — and this time it isn’t in beauty.
Take Your Time launches May 12th, and it’s a podcast centered around creativity, intention, and designing your life.
What I’ve always appreciated about Dianna Cohen is how intentional everything she does feels. Nothing reads like she’s just checking a box. There’s a clear throughline in her work, and it’s immediately recognizable. Her brand feels like an extension of who she is — and I expect this will be the same.
As someone actively thinking about how to structure my own weeks better as a creative — both for the success of myself and for the clients I work with — I find her approach a really strong north star.
Looking forward to this one.

LA’s Hottest New Grocery Store
This gave me flashbacks to the Meadow Lane opening chaos.
The restaurateurs behind Laurel Hardware just opened Laurel Supply, described as “a food hall–style concept featuring multiple dining options.”
After opening weekend, the internet verdict was immediate: this feels like an Erewhon dupe. The hot bar. The smoothie bar. The grocery shelves. The jars. Everything.
Which raises the obvious question:
If you’re going to open a direct competitor to Erewhon, don’t you think you would have a strong competitive advantage?
So far, everything looks the same — even down to price point. And when the novelty wears off, sameness is a tough strategy to stand on.
I’ll be keeping you abreast as this unfolds.

F1 Miami
The who’s who were out to play at Miami Grand Prix last weekend — and as usual, the off-track events were just as buzzy as the race itself.
Here’s a quick roundup of the hottest rooms in Miami:
Carbone Beach — What’s quickly become the event of the weekend. Produced by Major Food Group in partnership with American Express, this three-night, beachfront supper club is invite-only, celebrity-packed, and impeccably branded. PR powerhouse Cait Bailey is the force behind it (and yes, she’s engaged to Mario Carbone, which suddenly makes perfect sense).
TAG Heuer’s F1 Cocktail Party — Early-weekend, high-gloss, and hosted by Patrick Dempsey. TAG Heuer used the moment to debut a summer collection of pastel-faced watches — a smart, aesthetic tie-in to both Miami and the F1 crowd.
Silvia Tcherassi x ShopMy Kickoff — Silvia Tcherassi partnered with ShopMy for a Tuesday-night kickoff that brought fashion, creators, and luxury into the same room before the chaos began.
Do I think brands should show up at cultural moments like this? Absolutely.
But if you’re going to do it, the bar is high. It has to feel deeply aligned with your brand — and distinctive enough to cut through the noise.
